81st project online - 2nd new language

After it’s checked we shall be typesetting, printing and posting hundreds of copies of Luke’s Gospel in easyKelabit to Bario, Borneo, Sarawak, Malaysia. This is our second involvement with encouraging a totally new language. But the work and copyright belong to the teams doing the real work and to their churches and nations. God is good -ALL THE TIME!

80th project arriving

EasyBrao is arriving from Cambodia. These are the first Scriptures in this language.

Printing starts for 'veryeasy' Swahili and French

Our new printers, Cefni Computers have started with 50 copies of booklets in each of ‘veryeasy’ Swahili from Tanzania and ‘veryeasy’ French for Africa from Burundi. We shall post them to different people for field-testing and feedback before a second larger printing.

Tomorrow we move on to Amharic and Oromo from Ethiopia then Yao from Mozambique, Chichewa from Malawi and Kirundi from Burundi…..

We have wonderful typesetting help from a friend in Wycliife Associates UK.

We only seek to kick-start different languages but the national churches must then accept ownership of this work. Taking the gospel to the poor and marginalised is PART OF THEIR CALLING. Matthew 28: 18-20

We will always start with the ‘veryeasy’ levels to reach more poor people. Then, when we are established in a language, we shall do ‘easy’ gospels too.

China again

As i have now been accepted as a delegate for Tokyo 2010 in May and as veryeasyChinese and Street Chinese are doing well i expect to visit Shanghai again – on the way to Japan. Praise God for many doors opening.

Great news about printing

Hi Martin,

Further to our chat today (and after checking with my staff) I can confirm that we at Cefni Computers can manage your laser printing needs at the special rate of £0 per copy for the foreseeable future as we have plenty of semi redundant printers that can be used up on this type of work before they go for recycling.

Obviously we would prefer Black & White documents as we have more of those sort of printers available – please don’t send me an order for 10,000 straight away Smile emoticon.

I will also try to contact my customer that knows Japanese tomorrow so hopefully you will get some good news in that direction also.

Tokyo 2010

Latest info re Tokyo 2010 (please see http://www.tokyo2010.org/ and http://www.edinburgh2010.org/en/events/other2010projects.html )

I hope – God willing – to be invited to attend this event. Please pray.

eBs printing for Cambodia

We hope soon to be printing booklets for the Brao language in Cambodia. These will be the first Bible portions in this language and so I’ll put them in the Made to Measure section of this site.

Happy Christmas – in Karen from Myanmar!

The Christmas Story has arrived just in time for Christmas – from Timothy, a Burmese man in the USA. This story is in veryeasyKaren and in English. We hope one day to have this in Braille too. Thanks too to Carole for supervising this project. I hope in January to network with Braille producing groups in the UK. Happy Christmas and Spirit -led New Year from Martin & Jenny

Fasting Wed 2nd Dec

Pastor Martin is enjoying resting, dieting and walking in the rain. My blood pressure is the lowest for 20 years. But losing weight is more of a challenge.

But Ps 121 reminds us that we serve a God who ‘neither slumbers nor sleeps’.

Bishop Jamali Milanzi rejoices in new contacts for Zulu and Xhosa in Johannesburg, South Africa and for Sesotho in Maseru, Lesotho. Bishop Milanzi is a close friend of Revd Susan Kibii in Malawi. May the Lord enlarge their ministry throughout Southern Africa and East Africa!

Dr. Emmanuel Yakubu from Nigeria is back in Ghana en route for Abidjan -may God bless his wonderful ministry in West Africa!

And our Wyclffe Bible Translators friend Carole in the US writes :

‘We had a long holiday weekend last week, and today Timothy brought in copies of the Karen Christmas story — TYPED! It was beautiful. I don’t know how he did it, but it’s perfect.’  Karen is an important language from Myanmar or Burma.

PRAISE HIS WONDERFUL NAME!!
