Fasting Wed 7th Sept - All 4 gospels have now arrived from DRC

Bishop Evariste Numbi’s team led by Pastor Elie have now sent all 4 gospels in easyFrench for Africa. We expect to very soon have these at First Draft level ready to be put onto this site for independent checking to resume. The slight hiccup was caused by sending the last 2 from cyber cafes with intermittent broadband access. We shall soon remedy this with African and UK help.

But this is the answer to many prayers!! Praise God.

This morning i read from Mt ch 12 v20, 21 – quoting Isaiah 42 :

‘A bruised reed He will not break,

and a smouldering wick He will not snuff out,

till He leads justice to victory.

In His Name the nations will put their hope.’

So, from one bruised reed to many others -’Hallelyah’

(This post is so important that it will be put on both sites.)

Stage 3 begins - September 1st

A4 Spiral-bound booklets

As soon as we get all four Gospels through Checking we expect to start producing spiral-bound A4 size books for easyFrench….

Giant step forward for Urdu

‘Easy’ and ‘veryeasy’ Urdu (and later Punjabi) are making great progress with a new team of volunteers from UK and Pakistan.

We had a WONDERFUL TIME IN NORTH EAST ENGLAND – as will be seen in the next few months! Thank you for your prayers.

Writing and checking in North East England

Tomorrow, Tuesday, i’m off to NE England to meet interesting people helping with French for Africa and Urdu – 2 of our best languages for Stage3.

Thanks for prayers

I had a very interesting few days in Belgium with my new friend Marc who introduced me to teachers from his old school – and who are interested in doing ‘veryeasy’Dutch (the language of North Belgium). En route, i met people keen to help with French, Spanish, Russian and Serbian languages for the learning disabled. One was a Jesuit priest.

Brussels - easyFrench

Off to Belgium for 5 days – starting with advice from a businessman i met on my flight from Moscow to Shanghai in March.

I’m particularly chasing more checkers for easyFrench – this project is going very well – centred on the DRC.

In Sept i visit the International Secretary of ‘Faith & Light’ – Jean Vanier’s other organisation (see http://www.faithandlight.org ) in Paris.

My enthusiasm and inspiration comes from the Congolese easyFrench team based in Lubumbashi. Soon they will have finished all 4 gospels at the ‘easy’ level – and they recently sent me 50 gospel stories at the ‘veryeasy’ level.

We now have over 80 veryeasyChinese gospel stories from Shanghai.

Good Gifts and 'The Good Shepherd'

We had another exciting Good Gifts meeting yesterday. We walked along the path by the sea at Llanfairfechan, North Wales; had tea at our bungalow and met Alan Thompson – the artist – who has now joined this group. Many were away on holiday – so we postponed a decision on joining ‘Faith & Light’ till next month.

We enjoyed seeing Alan’s paintings. They are now on sale at a Bridge Cafe in Llanfairfechan and Bay Gallery in Colwyn Bay. We hope soon to find other outlets. Profits go to various charities.

Next week i hope to return to Liverpool L’arche to meet other learning disabled artists.

If you click on the ‘ROYAL EASYBIBLES’ page at the top of this website you will find the ‘Lost Sheep’ series. The author John N has also sent me an interesting variation on Picture 5. We are, of course, intended to think of the Good Shepherd as representing Jesus himself – who was not disabled BUT as i’m learning from L’arche we all have much to learn ALSO from the loving, faithful and trusting attributes of many learning disabled people. THEY BECOME OUR TEACHERS.

Fasting Wednesday 3rd August - month of delight

This month please pray for :

1. Kainos as they seek to find me ex-offenders and current prisoners to become ‘easyBibles’ writers and artists. I met again last week Revd John Sephton who is seeking to introduce Alpha courses to prisons in NW England and encourage churches to help ex-offenders.

2. Following my meeting with Jean Vanier in France, i again visited John Sargent in Preston and Liverpool L’arche. We have so much in common regarding God’s world and our understanding of the gospels. Many doors seem to be opening – i’m now in positive email discussions with the leader of L’arche India; in Liverpool we’re looking at how learning disabled artists could produce relevant materials and at printing A4 size booklets.

The whole emphasis is on learning together – we’re ALL  learning disabled especially in spiritual understanding. If on our own pilgrimage we are not starting to learn humility WE ARE THE DUNCES!

My friend Alan Thompson is now selling his pictures – for various charities in a local cafe in Llanfairfechan as well as an art gallery in Colwyn Bay, North Wales.

‘WITHOUT LOVE, WE ARE NOTHING – 1 CORINTHIANS 13 V 2′

STOP PRESS – I’VE JUST NOTICED THAT THE ‘EASYCHINESE’ WEBSITE IS NOW WORKING AGAIN IN UK – GO TO :

http://www.gng.org.cn/JDJH/ShowClass.asp?ClassID=12

Zhoukou, Henan resumes production!

We already have ‘easy’and ‘veryeasy’ Chinese from Shanghai – and that is great!  But much more satisfying is this resumption of work from Zhoukou because this is being done and checked by the 3 Self Church with the permission of the Chinese government. In March i sat next seat but one to the Communist Officer in charge of education for Zhoukou – a good friend of Mr Ma.

I’m asking others to assess these latest ‘veryeasy’ Chinese stories beginning to flow from Zhoukou.  BUT THE MAIN ANSWER TO PRAYER IS THAT THEY ARE COMING. SOON I HOPE FOR CHAPTERS OF LUKE’S GOSPEL – AS WITH SHANGHAI – THEN  THESE TEAMS WILL WORK TOGETHER!

WHEN THAT HAPPENS CHINA WILL BE A FLAGSHIP COUNTRY FOR STAGE 3 FOR easyBibles.com .

Please pray that the 3 Self site www.gng.org.cn will soon be unlocked and able to display their latest gospel materials, inside as well as outside China.

This will help 700 million people! Pray for courage for the government to relax any controls.
