In Luke 4 v 18 Jesus applies Isaiah 61 v 1 to His own ministry :
‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me,
to preach good news
to the poor.’
For over 2000 years the Christian Church has largely neglected this aspect of our calling. Let’s move forward in obedience, so that :
God may bestow on the poor of many nations :
‘crowns of beauty’ and ‘the oil of gladness’ Isaiah 61 v 3
